Culture
This is the oldest of the historical buildings in Vigo. It was built as a town mansion in the 15th century in late gothic style. The building has the appearance of a medieval tower and is built with ashlar masonry. It is simply decorated and the only outstanding feature are the lintels of the windows overlooking the square. At the top of the building there is guttering and stone gargoyles. There are also two coats of arms, one belonging to the Ceta family and the other showing two lions.
The Fundación Camôes, the Portuguese centre for culture and language, is now based in the Casa de Ceta, along with the adjoining Pazos y Figueroa building.
