Estanislao Durán Building

  • Architect: Manuel Felipe Quintana
  • Built: 1901
  • Address: C/ Príncipe, 41

This building is eclectic in style with a French influence reflected in the attic floor at the top which has a series of attic windows decorated by a curved pediment and scroll shapes at the sides.

An extension to the building was added to the façade on calle Velázquez Moreno in 1924, but the rest of the building still remains the same as in the original design.

The most important element of interest is the corner section that links the two sides of the façade. On the second and third floors it is like curved in shape like a tower. On the second floor there is a stone balcony and on the third there are mouldings of columns holding semicircular arches that support the dome.

The ground floor now houses a bank premises and here we can see a series of segmental arches with a decorative moulding at the top.

The windows on the first floor are framed by pilasters and on the lintel there is an entablement framing a plant decoration and a human figure.
