The Verbum building was designed by the Galician architect César Portela and is located beside the beach at Samil. It is an interactive museum based on the theme of all spheres of human language and communication. It was designed as an area for culture, education and activities and where the visitor has the opportunity to interact with the items on exhibit. The building is designed in four floors joined and interrelated by a central column of light like a set of Chinese boxes each fitting inside the other.

The museum is an area for entertainment, where the visitor experiences and learns through play all about language and languages, words, letters, sounds, symbols and signs, sight, hearing, reading, writing, literature and technology.

The exhibition is designed around 29 cubes containing a total of 81 modules inside where all the themes are discovered: language, science, literature and science. The museum also organizes interactive activities for schoolchildren, associations, families and groups.

Other facilities include a temporary exhibition hall, auditorium and conference room.
