Bouzas Church

  • BUILT: Second half of the 16th century and rebuilt in the 17th century
  • ADDRESS: Parroquia de San Miguel de Bouzas

Bouzas Church was built in a rectangular shape with a semicircular apse. On the outside wall we can see the coat of arms of the families Peña and Correa and it was the Correa family, in particular, Capitan Álvaro Correa who ordered the church to be built in 1596.

The church was rebuilt in 1697 by Manuel Troncoso de Ojea and his sister Isabel. Inside there is a medallion commemorating this event.

Restoration work was carried out but did not affect the main structure.
