This lighthouse is located on the middle island of the archipelago, known as Isla del Centro or Isla de O Faro. It was built between 1851 and 1853 at a height of 178m above sea level.

The lighthouse was inhabited until the 1960s. It was surrounded by living quarters which no longer exist. It is now automatic.

The walk up to this lighthouse, zigzagging along a windy path, is quite a challenge for visitors to the island. However, once there, the views of the whole archipelago and the cliffs are worth the effort.
