The Municipal Center for Social Services (CMSS) is a central body which counts on human, technical, financial and material resources, to manage and coordinate the various programs that are carried out in the Social Work Units (UTS).

Social Work Units (UTS)

The Social Work Units (UTS) were created to decentralize the provision of social services within the municipality and can be considered as the "gateway" to the Social Services System. A skilled team of social workers in every unit, provides information in a professional and confidential manner on social services, resources and benefits available to the citizens and on the rights they have, both as individuals and as a group.

Subsequently, all the personal needs registered there are carefully evaluated on request, in order to find specific solutions and to ensure a high quality personalized advice.

The service includes:

• Information, appraisal, diagnosis and guidance in regard to the rights, resources and social activities to which any individual is entitled to.
• Home support, alternative housing, income support and social emergency assistance.
• Preventive actions against situations of risk and social necessities among the whole population to successfully achieve social integration.
