Citizenry Services
The Department for Citizen Participation, aims to decentralize and modernize public administration as far as possible, making it closer, more understandable and accessible to the population, by improving the citizen's service and facilitating the access to information to all residents.
Citizen Advice Centre:
Municipal Service Centres: Are offices integrated in the Civic Centers, which organize and develop the programmed activities offered in them, acting as a link between the Council departments and the civic associations, private entities and public administrations, using a highly efficient strategy in close relationship with the population.
Civic Centres: Are the places in which they are located the Municipal Service Centers (CAM) and the Municipal Internet Centers (CMI). They offer library services from where you can borrow books for free, and also free internet access by requesting an user card, which does not need renewal and is valid for all civic centres.
In there are common areas to use – asking for previous authorization at the centre itself or through the Virtual Office –, meeting places for associations and groups, reading and studying rooms, and other shared spaces for people to meet together and carry out training activities, as well as cultural and recreational programs.
Municipal Centers for Internet: The City council of Vigo, through the Department for Citizen Participation puts at disposal of the population Internet Centres and labs at the Civic centres, neighbourhood associations and cultural organizations.
Associations: In Vigo, there are more than five hundred associations of various kinds. Some of them are city-based ones, while others are delegations of regional and national civic organizations. The most popular are cultural institutions, coral groups and sport clubs, as well as PTAs, neighbourghood associations and youth clubs.
